About Bialik College

The Position
The successful person will deliver English lessons across the secondary school, primarily from Years 9-11.  This position may be worked as a part-time (0.85 or 0.9 FTE) or as a full-time teaching position.  This is a fixed term position until December 2018 with possibility to extend.  
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver English and Literature lessons for middle and senior students 
  • Cater for individual learning needs within the classroom
  • Work with the English department staff to develop and evaluate curriculum
  • Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy
  • Monitor, evaluate and report of student progress
  • Create a culture of learning within the classroom
The Person
  • Prior VCE experience an advantage
  • Solid experience in teaching across a range of year levels
  • An understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and different teaching methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • VIT registration is essential
